Dophen
Electric Injection Machine
by Dophen Engineering Co Ltd
Designed by: William Jim
Comments from the Judging Panel
The Mekatron 80 is a successful electric injection
molding machine designed and made in Hong Kong that
incorporates Dophen's sophisticated Digital A.I. Control
System to ensure smooth and accurate response during
the injection cycle. Molding conditions including
injection pressure, speed and position can be adjusted
automatically by this closed-loop control circuit.
The in-house developed industrial personal computer
and I/O PCB provide quick and reliable responses for
input output signals. The in-line configuration of
the injection screw, injection nozzle and injection
slideway greatly reduce the torque acting on the slideway.
Each operation is driven by independent AC servomotor
to facilitate stable molding conditions and concurrent
operations. The results are higher precision, greater
productivity, smoother operations, and lower power
consumption when compared with traditional hydraulic
injection machine. |

Lighting Control System
by Macostar Hong Kong Ltd
Designed by: Wong Kwok Ho
Comments from the Judging Panel
This is a very cost effective and well designed lighting
control system with both innovations and approaching
world class state of the art. The innovative concepts
including a comprehensive dimming and switching design
to meet unique requirements and characteristics of
different light source or even Non-dim devices. Programmability
of individual lighting elements of different types
is one of the key features. Electric controls of these
lighting elements use the company's successful lighting
control technology for stage and studio applications.

Low Power Consumption Electronic Digital Lock
by Dragon Brother Digital Lock Ltd
Designed by: Chu San Lung (Hay To), Luo Shi Fu, Luo Shi Zhong
Comments from the Judging Panel
The low power motor driven unlocking mechanism is
the key technology used in this series of electronic
lock. The innovation lies in the lock core which draws
power from a battery resident in the key. Thus no
other external or internal power sources are deployed
in the unlocking mechanism. The low power design ensures
that the key can operate the lock for a long period
of time without having to replace the battery. With
the use of a microcontroller in both the key and the
core the lock can be engineered to varying degree
of security as desired and it can also be used in
a variety of application.

B-shaped
Rail Plastic Beams for Expressway Guardrail
by Megaplastic (Hong Kong) Company Limited
Designed by: Chan Chi Lap, Raymond
Comments from the Judging Panel
The product is made from metalocene based plastic
of high toughness complying with safety requirements
stipulated in international standards. It is hollow
with good shock - absorption ability and is designed
to allow certain displacement when collision occurs
thus providing higher safety to passengers. The material
used can be recycled for reuse and the chemical and
weather resistant characteristics make the products
environmental friendly. It is cheaper than the corresponding
steel product and very little maintenance is required.
